MOVE Malaysia returns with a workcamp with Dignity For Children Foundation, Kuala Lumpur. This foundation is to establish high-quality, one-stop community learning center for the poor; implementing specialized learning environments which develop children academically and socially, empowering them to become productive members of society. Aims:
a) To promote awareness on children’s education need to break poverty. b) To develop friendship and understanding with all volunteers and local stakeholders.
Work:
We will mainly assisting the Harvest Centre is a learning center (Nursery, Pre-school and Lower Primary) operated by Dignity For Children Foundation providing and advocating quality education for under privileged children and refugees.
Study theme:
Please bring information about education for the under privileged children in your country. You also encourage to bring some picture books and crafts to introduce to the younger children. You are most welcome to interact with DIGNITY staff!
Accommodation:
Volunteer with stay in dorms. The dorm is located near the school and some staffs are staying at the dorm as well. But still volunteers are required to bring their own sleeping bags.
Language:
English is the main language. Some Malay/Chinese language will certainly help breaking the ice and useful especially when talking to local community.
Travel terminal:
Sentul station is about 20 minutes by train from Kuala Lumpur Sentral station or 30 minutes by car (depending on traffic situation).
Qualifications:
Like children and good motivation on volunteerism.
Participation fee:
RM500 (Approx. EUR 130) should be paid upon your arrival at DIGNITY.
