The host organisation is Kyodo Gakusha Shintoku farm, a co-operative community where people from various backgrounds come together to live and work. There are five communities in Tokyo, Nagano and Hokkaido and they farm and keep animals in a natural, organic way. Volunteers will be involved in constructing houses for residents and participating in the day to day life of the community and agricultural tasks.

Wakamono-Jiritsujuku is a governmental project for young people who are so called NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training) for youngsters out of the school system, unemployed or suffering other difficulties. This is a big social problem in Japan that the number of youth who do not want to work or who cannot work has been increasing rapidly. Volunteers will work 2-3 days in support of program NEET. They will communicate with them and organize language class. The goal is to help them to get confidence by the experiences of communicating foreign people. The volunteer will also work in the organic farm (plant, weed, cultivate and harvest to grow organic vegetables, blueberries and rice).

This group is not only working in social works but also community development, promoting organic farming and environment conservation. The volunteer will work in the organic farm (planting, weeding, cultivating, harvesting. They will do forest work (cutting grasses, branches and trees). Also they will work 2-3 days in support of program NEET, for youngsters out of the school system, unemployed or suffering other difficulties. The host organisation is Aruking-Club a non-profit organisation who aim to create opportunities for people to experience nature and agriculture. They organise different kinds of outdoor activities such as nature walks, sports, summer nature camps for kids etc. They also have organic vegetable fields and domestic animals (cows, sheep etc.) as well as a camp site and lodge where they host many people during the year. The volunteer will assist with these activities, working on the farm, help organise the summer camps, maintaining the lodge etc.
