This is the first time to organize workcamp in collaboration with the local group ‘Tsuga/Nagafuji local conference’. Misato-cho is located in near Iwami-Ginzan, a world heritage in Japan and old traditional culture still remain. But recently the average of age in Misato-cho is getting high and No of young people decreasing. In Misato-cho, there is big festival called “bamboo lantern festival” that one of biggest one in Shimane prefecture. We help and join this festival so that encourage local people. Also, we join some traditional event. Local people want us to know traditional culture and tell to the next generation.
Wurk:
Cutting bamboos for lantern, make bamboo lantern and small stuffs for festival.
Study part:
visiting primary school and has a class about international culture exchange. Please bring some ideas. Home stay, lecture about traditional culture etc.
Accommodation:
In the local exchange center.
Location:
Misato-cho located in the middle of the Shimane prefecture, famous for Iwami silver mine as a world heritage. There is hot spa, beautiful nature. You can feel Japanese four seasons.
Terminal:
Osaka. (6 hours by bus ). From Tokyo 6hours by bullet train and bus or 14 hours by midnight bus and local bus.
Leisure Activities:
Japanese Shinto music and dance.
