Jimbaran is a well-known village that offers unique culture and beautiful places such as beautiful beaches, traditional dances and so on. Bali Disabled School was founded with the aim to cater for the needs of disabled children and youth in Bali and the surrounding areas. The school accommodates education for special children and youth from Kindergarten until Senior High School age level. In order to meet education needs for special children and youth, the school provides several educational services such as autism education, mute education, and metal education. The subjects of the studies are taught based on the student’s specialties. Except the compulsory subject studies, the teachers also provide them with several extra activities in order to lead them become independent personality in the future. In general, the school curriculum or education system is similar to other schools, but there are various programs implemented in this school in order to support or courage students’ life skill as well as their motivation in the specific fields.
Work:
The role of the volunteers will be assisting local teacher in classes like teaching basic conversation in English, helping teacher in giving training on physical activities of the disabled students like making simple handicrafts, playing, doing simple sport, etc. The volunteers’ influence on students is expected to create a sense of knowledge of other realities of the disabled kids and other cultures in a way that improves their own perception of themselves and what they can achieve. Also to open the mind of international volunteers that the disabled students also need attention to face their future. It will also give opportunity for the international volunteers about the treatment that should be done by the families of disabled children.
Study theme:
The volunteers will be introduced to the education activities of the disabled students related with Indonesian culture and customs in general.
Leisure Time:
During free time, the volunteers will have the chance to visit the diverse tourism attraction in Bali which has been popular all over the world. Volunteer may visit beaches, handicraft making center or traditional market.
Accommodation:
The volunteers will be accommodated in the school (basic conditions, sleeping bag and mat needed) and cook their own meal.

This work camp will be held in Bali disabled school.

Wonosobo is a regency located in Dieng Plateau, 129 km far away from Semarang, the capital city of Central Java.
This is one of the great place since it is surrounded by twin volcanos:
Mount Sindoro and Mount Sumbing with the green valleys of the tea plantation flourish the area. There is an old heritage, Dieng Temple and also natural tourism area. Our project will be working together with the Congregation Suster Putri Maria and Yosef which takes care children with deaf & mute disability. Each of students has different family background; some of them are from broken home families with the parents not take care of the children. Thus, this congregation has a dormitory house provided for the children and a school to educate them. The presence of volunteers would be meaningful for the children bringing happiness with intercultural dimension that would make a different experience for them.
Work:
This project will be focusing on educational and manual work. We will also perform an English teaching and other activities with local kids such as games plays, making handicrafts, assisting the students of doing homework, assisting cooking etc. While in the afternoon volunteers will work on painting orphanage building.
Study theme:
The volunteers will be introduced to the Indonesian culture and customs in general, with a special focus on the Javanese particularities. Some cultural visits are also foreseen.
Leisure Time:
During free time, the volunteers will have the chance to visit Dieng Plateau and Rainbow Lake which are quite famous in the area.
Accommodation:
The volunteers will be accommodated in dormitory house with shared bathroom (basic conditions, sleeping bag and mat needed) where they will also receive food together with the children.

This work camp will be conducted in Wonosobo Regency which is located 3 hours by car from Semarang.
Terminal:
Semarang airport, railway station and bus terminal.
