This is the third world heritage international work camp organised in Borobudur temple, under the scheme of UNESCO World Heritage Education program (find the link of UNESCO's inscription for Borobudur). The Borobudur Patrimonito International Work camp focuses on the education and awareness campaigns by involving local senior high school students trained as "Young Guardians" for local youth and local people. The target group of the project is visitors of the temple (both domestic and international visitors). The first Borobudur patrimonito work camp in 2009 was able to create a group of 31 Senior High school students under the name of "Young Guardian", creating educational material for world heritage education, highlighting the active involvement of youth and local community who are preserving, promoting and protecting the world heritage site. This project is in 6 different languages and organised over 6 days on the awareness campaign entitled " Young Guardian in Action: Together we care" with visitors of Borobudur temple as a target group. Besides giving an education for the youth to take an active involvement in the preservation, promotion and protection effort, the camp also gives them the experience of the difficulties of preservation, promotion and protection efforts, and how to implement the strategies planned in managing the visitors and increasing their awareness on the importance of their role in determining the future of the temple. This year Borobudur patrimonito work camp is designed as one of the follow up activities for last year project.
