Our environment is being destroyed and climate change is threatening not only the ecosystems but also the people on this planet. However, we are not just watching helplessly. Many people from all over Europe meet here to exchange ideas and learn from and with each other. In order to confront energy production with dirty brown coal directly and on location, this camp will be held in Manheim for the third year.
It is still supported by the international Reclaim the Fields Camp. From August 23-September 1, several hundred climate activists and environmentalists will meet at the Rhenisch coal field to camp out against the destructive brown coal mining done by the energy giant RWE. The goal is to educate themselves and others, exchange ideas, network, and organize activities. From August 28-September 8, the network of small farmers, Reclaim the Fields, will also be in Manheim. They hail from all over Europe and actively work against the destruction of fertile ground. Plenty of practical experience and knowledge on the topic of self-sufficiency, creating seeds, and planting and harvesting vegetables. Your team will be helping with building and organizing the festival. Self organization and grassroots democracy are important principles for the organizers, just like IJGD, and you will have a say on how you get involved.

« The outside world did not interfere, because it seemed so distant, and so we spent our spare time getting to know each other and learning about each other countries', languages and cultures. Everyone was completely relaxed. This simply would not have been possible on any other type of holiday. VAP enabled me to have a truly memorable experience. »
