The World Village Festival (23-24 May) showcases a large range of organisations and is organised by KEPA (Service Centre for Development Cooperation in Finland). The festival supports multiculturalism, international solidarity and development co-operation through music and exhibitions (www.worldvillage.fi). Volunteers will help to set up the festival area including building and taking down tents, setting up stalls, decorating the festival area, etc. After the World Village festival the volunteers will work for three days in a reception centre for refugees and asylum seekers.
Accommodation:
Basic accommodation. Volunteers will have access to washing facilities and a sauna.
Jami Fly In is the biggest annual aviation event in Finland www.jamiflyin.com. The event is organised by the local voluntary activists of the Finnish Aeronautical Association (FAA). FAA is the national organization of sport aviation in Finland. The sphere of activity of FAA includes many different air sport disciplines: powered flying, gliding, experimental flying, ultralight flying, hang gliding, paragliding, parachuting, ballooning etc, This major event of about 10 00 visitors and 120 aircrafts takes place in a small community. Volunteers will be hands on in various preparation work before the event and also in cleaning and dismantling afterwards. Volunteers should be ready to do heavy physical work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Volunteers will be staying in a cottage with access to all basic facilities.
Location:
Jamijarvi is a small community in western Finland about 300 km from Helsinki.
Terminal:
Ikaalinen is the closest train/bus stop. Camp leaders will arrange transportation from Ikaalinen to Jamijarvi.
Mukula is a local association which aims to improve the local cultural life for the children and the youth. Aukusti festival is its main focus every August, the event is now organised for the 10th time. Aukusti is an event which binds together several different cultural factions and artists to offer the local people a weekend of music, theatre, dance and even sports. Volunteers will be mostly building the festival area (putting up fences and tents), cleaning and decorating, catering, building roadside signs and spreading posters etc and taking the festival down at the end of the festival. Work can be physically hard. The working hours will be long during the actual festival days, but there is free time during the week, so that you will be able to take trips to the nearby places.

Location:
Jalasjarvi is a small municipality of 9000 people near the town of Seinajoki.
Terminal:
Train from Helsinki to Seinajoki, from there a bus to Jalasjarvi.
