The organisation is led by young people.
Location:
The Maramba Youth Center is located about two km from the town center of Livingstone town and 20 Km from the Mighty Victoria Falls. It is about 472 Km from the capital city Lusaka, it is Zambia tourist capital where most of tourists attractions are found.
Accommodation and Food:
The volunteer will be accommodated in a home stay where he or she shall have a chance to interact with the Zambian family and have a cultural exchange experience. The food provided shall be what is locally available and if the volunteers want anything outside of these they shall have to provide for themselves.

Qualifications:
Volunteers do not need specific qualifications but should be able to empathise with members of the local community who access the service. A motivated and positive attitude with a good work ethic will be desirable as the volunteer will be expected to help the organisation in the coordination of programs and networking with other organisations.

Copperbelt youth forum is the network of all the Youth organisation in the province. The network allows the youth organisation to initiate and run community support programmes, share information and communicate, while maintaining and enjoying the cultural diversity of our rural community.

You MUST have strong communication skills, a flare for working with people at the grassroots level with a sociable disposition and attitude. You will have experience of developing and managing efficient administrative systems have a good knowledge of Word, Excel and databases and be able to work on your own as well as part of different teams at various levels. The volunteer should also have fundraising and should be able to manage their own workload and work under pressure; you will play a significant role in the success of the Resource Centre and coming up with workable programmes/ activities as requested by the organisation.
The organization was formed in the year 1996 in Lusaka with aim of addressing the plight of the unemployed Youth and Promotion of Children's Rights in the city. The organization by then was called Young Potters Association of Zambia and later changed its name to Rural Youth and Children in Need (RYOCHIN)

The volunteer must be good in advocacy skills and child labor issue as well as counselling. They should also be ready to work on their own as well as part of different teams at various levels. The ability to manage their own workload and work under pressure will play a significant role in the success of the organisation. The volunteer should have fundraising skills, communication and interpersonal skills

The Youth Centre was donated to Contact Trust Youth Association (CTYA) by Livingstone City Council. Being the only youth centre in Livingstone it attracts almost all the young people in the surrounding areas of Maramba youth centre. The area has no problems with communication, transport, banking facilities health centres and a number of insurance companies. Interested volunteers should posess facilitating skills, fundraising and financial management and be able to initiate programs that will suit the youths.

Project/Work:
Mkhanya Community School aims to promote quality education among children through the provision of free education. Mkhanya Community School is a new school which was built by YAZ volunteers and the community through voluntary Workcamps.
The community school has two classrooms, one office and two store rooms. The school has 223 pupils with only 4 teachers to cater for the all number of children. The school has five grades. The subjects offered are Mathematics, English, Environmental Science, Social Studies, Local Languages, Hand writing, Drawing etc. All the teachers at the school have not yet gone through formal teaching training. However all of them have completed secondary/high school and they are able to speak and write good English. There is a water well near the school which is used for drinking water as well as cooking and bathing by the local people. Volunteers can also match their skills and interests to the needs of the community. You may also initiate local research projects for a thesis.
The volunteers will be immersed in rural village life and will spend time with warm and welcoming villagers; you will also have the opportunity to assist villagers in areas of great importance to their community.
The volunteers will be expected to teach, run and manage the resource centre together with teachers from the community. They will also be able to teach English and introduct a foreign language for those interested in teaching.

Mfuwe is located in the south Luangwa National Park area, East of Zambia. It is about 685 Km away from the capital city Lusaka and 100 Km from the provincial capital Chipata. It is 25 km from the park main entrance. Mfuwe is one of the busiest destinations for tourists coming to Zambia and has the best animals in the world!

Chawama Youth project is a profit making community organisation. The main aim of the organisation is to empower young people with short trainings in tailoring, carpentry and computers.
Location:
The organisation is located in Lusaka, the capital city of Zambia. It is situated in one of the biggest slums in the province. Almost all the facilities such as banking, good communication, road network, good hospitals can be accessed in the town centre which is about 2 Kilometers away. The area has electricity and running water and the people work in the industries within the city.

Qualifications:
The interested volunteers should have one or more of the following skills...
- Resource Mobilization. - Financial Management. - Teaching and Practical Skills training in Carpentry, Tailoring. - Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

The Youth Association of Zambia (YAZ) is a non-profit making youth organization whose objective is to improve the living standards of the youth and children in Zambia. It was founded on 11th May 1994.YAZ provides capacity building for youth organizations and groups in organisational development, strategic planning, Human Resources development, project management and advocacy based on the UN Millennium Development Goals. The organization involves young people in the activity implementation in order to contribute in making a difference in the community and as well as contributing to personal growth and national development through work and study camps and volunteering.
The interested volunteer should posses skills in some of the following fields - Workcamp preparation, Fundraising, ICT, micro-finance management and facilitation skills. The volunteer will also be expected to participate in the day to day activities of the organisation. They should be ready to work under a lot of pressure. The volunteer should be conversant with the following programs - Voluntary Study and Workcamps; HIV/AIDS awareness and counseling; Children rights and protection; Civic education; organizational development for Youth NGOs; gender awareness and development; local and international Youth Exchange Programmes.

Zambia National Youth Development Council is a quasi-Governmental Organization operating under an act of Parliament of 1986 as a cooperating body under the Ministry of Sport, Youth and Child Development. The mandate of NYDC is to register youth organizations in Zambia. Functions of the NYDC include Coordination of youth organizations and their activities; monitoring and evaluation of youth programmes/projects; resource mobilization for youth development; advisory role to the Minister of Youth; training of youth leaders and managers.
