Volunteers will be accommodated in African huts and tents put up by the community members.

Kyalalankuba is located in the North Western province, 600 Km away from the capital city Lusaka, and about 4Km away from Solwezi town centre. Volunteers are encouraged to bring with them warm clothes and working gloves. Study sessions and excursions to Mutanda Falls, the monument (ancient paintings and the falls), and Kaole Falls will also be done.
Arrival date in Zambia:
All volunteers attending the camp in Zambia should arrive two days before the commencement of the workcamp. This is to allow volunteers to attend the orientation. It is strongly advised to all participants that they should pass through the YAZ office for orientation. This will help prevent misunderstandings in the camp. It is also important for participants to confirm their coming two weeks before the scheduled camp. This will help the camp leaders plan better.
Hosting Fee:
210 Euro. A cheaper way of touring Zambia while contributing to community development. Volunteers pay cash direct to YAZ office on arrival.
« I can say that the best things about the workcamp and this whole experience were the chance of making a real difference to the lives of very needy children. This is an extremely valuable project where volunteers can have a massive impact. Also the possibility of learning a huge amount about a country so different from our own. I learnt ten times as much by carrying out a workcamp than I would ever do backpacking. »
