2011-08-05 The School was built by Anglican missionary in 1820. This is located in a unique environment described as “The evil forest” and fondly called by the people “Igbo Olodumare” where demons and evil spirits paraded themselves in the earliest century. Many of the indigenes benefited from this educational facility at the peak of the hills. The school is now overtaken by thick forest and losing value of ancient monument. The surroundings and inside needed improvement to attract tourism.
Work:
Volunteers will plant trees and flowers and also carry out a beautification project in a Primary School on Idanre Hills, Ondo State. Participate in the intercultural activities in the workcamp.
There will be social nights and cultural weekends. So volunteers should come with cultural habits and possible costumes and cookies to denote their culture. Intercultural cooking competition will be done at camp.
Accommodation:
Living is in the school with volunteers sleeping on local mats and few wooden bed made available. Volunteers should come with own sleeping bags and sheets, a choice could also be made to have tent at the top of the hill for few days.
This project is dedicated for regional expansion. Bring local partners and close sub regions for consolidation. Volunteers are expected from different nationalities, races and cultural backgrounds. Discussing about Voluntary networks on global and sub-regional levels. Gender sensitive of both male and female. Participants have 1 week travels and 1 week workcamp.
Work:
1st week to travel round projects and workcamps partners to learn and share good practices. 2nd week of global meeting on accessing global exchanges as relates to preparation and evaluation of volunteers, projects and performance.

Volunteers will join with local group to carry out awareness campaigns on MDG goals such as social inclusion and youth development through formal and non-formal education. Volunteers will also visit various schools and universities with the guide of local participants to create branches or cell units for local voluntary service organization thus drawing them out for leadership roles. This is to address volunteers drain and attracting youths for voluntary service.
Work:
Through posters, handbills, social programmes visit to schools and higher institutions with a sensitization tools on voluntary service projects.
Accommodation:
Volunteers will be accommodated in the city centre and possibly live with host family.

Qualification:
Volunteers should be motivated to work and may have experience in organizing workcamps and voluntary service activities. A returned volunteer from any project is also preferred.
Terminal/ Location:
Imota / Agbowa Community Centre, suburbs of Lagos State.
The volunteers will prepare and attend the annual convention of people. A Festival celebrated by the public and organized by the government. This relates to exhibition of our cultural values. Cultural Festival and Trade Fair comes up yearly and dignitaries from all works of life assemble at monumental city to witness the occasion.
Work:
Filming, theatre acting, helping to mount trade fair (Eko Expo, Youth Festival) decorating the festival stage and cleaning the platforms. Volunteers may come with their own culture and materials for bilateral cooperation. Games, music and sports materials are welcome.

Volunteers will be accommodated at the Event centre or close by and may also come with sleeping bags, tents and sheets.

This camp is planned for volunteers to have intercultural experience within the community especially at this time of festival and public entertainments. Volunteers will be acquainted with youths that are ready to plan a tour to some parts of the State for cultural promotion.
Work:
Mostly visiting to monuments, museums, Gallery and Slave Camp. Participate in the International Volunteers day celebrated 5th December and also take part in Volunteers Expo usually organized last month of the year.
