In partnership with the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Recreation, Poya International is organising socio-cultural activities for children aged 6 to 15. Poya International and the volunteers will give these children the chance to take part in activities mixing recreation and learning. Other children from the surrounding region will participate in the project creating a new framework of exchange and friendship for these children. Volunteers are encouraged to bring with them toys, games, school textbooks and clothes for the project.

Jaqueville is a beautiful touristic spot situated between a lagoon and the sea.

Hosting fee:
€153 to be paid on arrival to the host association. It is important to inform Poya International of the date, time of arrival in Abidjan and the flight number.
The school holidays are difficult for parents. The children are left on their own in cities and neighbourhoods with no adult supervision. Adults are busy at their daily occupations. Volunteers and local youth will take part in organising and training these children under the supervision of Poya International in partnership with the educational association, Akonda. The activities include courses on subjects such as French, maths etc. The programme runs from 9 to 12 each morning. The afternoons will be devoted to games and recreational activities from 15.00 to 17.30. Saturday and Sunday are free. There may be cultural excursions.

This is an extremely valuable project where volunteers can have a massive impact. Also the possibility of learning a huge amount about a country so different from our own.
