As part of its public health and environmental protection programme, Poya International is starting a campaign to clean up and improve the town of Zoukougbeu. International volunteers together with local youth will work to clean up parts of the town and reduce the causes of many diseases resulting from lack of hygiene. There will be popular awareness campaigns on HIV/AIDS and malaria. The volunteers and young people of the town will work in teams across the town with the aim of maximising the effects of the "clean town = health" operation. Work is from 09.00 until 13.00 (Monday to Saturday).

Situation:
Zoukougbeu is in the Haut-Sassandra region, 70 km from Daloa.

Volunteers must have a passport plus visa and an international vaccination certificate.
Hosting fee :
€153 to be paid on arrival to the host association. It is important to inform Poya International of the date, time of arrival in Abidjan and the flight number.
Volunteers will help with replanting in the part of the Botanic Garden at Bingerville offered to Poya International. This garden is one of the most important in West Africa with a very great variety of flora, a basis for science and medicine. This project has the collaboration of the Department of Water and Forests which is providing the plants. The volunteers will work in the plot provided by the garden authorities. Hours of work will be 8.30 to 13.00; afternoons and evenings will be free, giving time to visit the town.

the volunteers will stay in dormitories at the Agricultural College on the site.
