This project is organized in partnership with the Alavanjo Dzogbedze community. The whole community after a meeting with them we understood that the immediate facility needed is a public toilet (KVIP). The main goal of the project is to prevent diseases such as diarrhea and cholera as the present one being used is broken down where waste is spread to the surface and flies feed on.
Work and task of volunteer:
Manual labor is needed. Volunteers should be fit to undertake practical work. And will work in a team with other volunteers. The work will start at 7.00 AM and end at 14:00.
Leisure:
There is a possibility of visiting Wli waterfalls where volunteers can swim if interested. The waterfall is about 30 KM from camp site, monkey sanctuary, etc.
Accommodation:
Volunteers will be hosted in a school.
Requirements:
No special or particular competence/ skills is required, however a volunteer should be open minded and interested to learn new culture and work with other volunteers from different backgrounds. There should be broad perspective in solving problems. Volunteers should be able to fit into camp daily routine. The volunteer should not hold on his/ her title (competence). On our workcamps, titles don’t matter all, volunteers are the same.

The project will take place in Alavanjo Dzogbedze, Hohoe in the Volta Region of Ghana.
Remarks:
The fee for international volunteers is 250 Euros per month. It covers pick up from the airport/ bus station upon arrival in Ghana. The fee also covers orientation, running of activities during the project, feeding at camp and communication prior to the camp. Volunteers will participate in an orientation day after arrival. Volunteers who arrive 1 week before project starts will pay 10 Euro per day for VOLU hostel. This fee does not cover meals whilst staying at the hostel. The fee 250 Euros does not cover excursions on projects.
This project is organised in collaboration with the Hohoe E.P. Snr. High School. As the school administration finds it necessary to prepare (build) accommodation (bungalow) for some of its teachers. Those who travel long distance to and from the school.
The main goal of the project is to provide a comfortable place to stay for some of the school’s teachers who lives far from the Hohoe E.P. Snr. High School. To enable the teachers save time to the school.
